Intrinsic Living Academy

What a RIPPER question…

I get asked a lot about what is Intrinsic and why I am investing so much time into myself.

This is no easily answered question, well not within one beer anyway, hahaha!
So I thought I would start with what Intrinsic and Extrinsic mean and their BIG life differences by writing an article that tries to explain it in laymen’s terms for everyone.

The way you live can determine the wellness of your mind & body. And we’ll leave the spirit out of this for another blog….

In today’s world, it’s easy to get caught up in the external world and focus on materialistic things, fame, and fortune and ego. But, have you ever stopped to wonder about yourself and your inner world? That’s where Intrinsic living comes into play.

Intrinsic living is all about living from within and focusing on your inner world. It’s about finding happiness, contentment, and satisfaction in the things that you do, rather than relying on external factors for validation. When you live an Intrinsic life, you’re living in alignment with your values, beliefs, and desires, and not seeking external validation.

On the other hand, Extrinsic living is all about the external world and focusing on external factors for validation. It’s about seeking validation and happiness through materialistic things, fame, and fortune. When you live an Extrinsic life, you’re constantly seeking external validation, and you’re never fully satisfied with what you have.

Living intrinsically is not a new concept; it is, in fact, natural by nature. When we are born, we have an innate sense of self-awareness and the ability to be present in the moment. However, as we grow older, we start to develop an ego, which can lead us towards Extrinsic living. This ego can make us focus on external validation and the things we need to do or have to feel fulfilled, rather than finding happiness and contentment from within.

Living an Intrinsic life can have a positive impact on your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. When you’re not seeking validation through external factors, you’re not as likely to engage in behaviours that are detrimental to your health, such as excessive drinking, smoking, and overeating. Living intrinsically can also reduce stress and anxiety, which can have a positive impact on your overall physical health.

Living an Intrinsic life can also help you develop a stronger sense of self-awareness, and guide you towards living in alignment with your values, beliefs, and desires. This alignment brings peace, contentment, and satisfaction to your life. It helps you become more self-sufficient, and less reliant on external factors for validation.

Finally, living an Intrinsic life can also have a positive impact on your spiritual well-being. When you’re living in alignment with your values, beliefs, and desires, you’re more likely to experience a sense of purpose and meaning in your life. This can lead to a deeper understanding of yourself, and a greater connection to the world around you.

So, how can you start living an Intrinsic life?

It’s about taking small steps towards being more present in the moment, developing self-awareness, and living in alignment with your values, beliefs, and desires. You can also develop a meditation practice, which can have a positive impact on your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
